Planning to open 100 stores in China, Furla is staging a veritable invasion of the now fashion-savvy country in over forty stores. While this equates to over two stores per each of the forty cities, the fashion industry's insane growth in China should accommodate the new stores quite well.

 

Furla, the Italian luxury fashion brand, is to open 100 stores in more than 40 cities in China, as the company and its rivals tap into increasing Chinese demand for contemporary high-end European designs.

It has agreed a deal with Fung Group, the private investment arm of Li & Fung, the Hong Kong-based manufacturing and distribution company responsible for expanding numerous western prestige brands on the mainland.

On Thursday, Furla and rival Italian brand Salvatore Ferragamo announced double-digit sales growth for 2012, despite ongoing economic uncertainty at home. Read More
