General Guidelines to Plan your Wedding Reception

Attending weddings is fun, but organizing one is not as easy as it seems in attending it. To reduce your work load, you can appoint a wedding planner.  With wedding season at its peak, it is sometimes difficult to get dates of your wedding planner. In such cases you are in tough spot.

Though wedding planning is not that easy, but it is not that tough as well. There is no hard and fast rule in planning your wedding reception, let me put forth some General Guidelines to plan your

Wedding/ Reception

1. Formulate your plan:

As soon as your wedding date is fixed, chalk down your wedding/reception plan. Include your to be husband, parents, and in-laws, as they would have some plans for your wedding as well. Note down everyone’s choices, opinions, suggestions, put your points as well. Once you have all of this on paper, finalize what you want in your wedding. To eliminate errors and misunderstandings in future include your fiancée, parents and in-laws during finalization.

2. Fix the venue:

The next thing is booking your venue. Wedding venues are booked 6 months in advance and delaying your booking would lead to loss of the venue you desire. One of the best portals to view the wedding venues without going round the town is visiting www.megavenues.com here you can access all the venues and shortlist them.

3. Book your caterers:

Your invitees will have a close eye on the food. Wedding food will always be discussed for years to come; hence nothing should go wrong here. Visit different caterers and taste their menu. Once you have decided your caterer, fix your menu and rates and the delivery date with them.

4. Invitations:

Have your invitations printed and addressed atleast 2 months in advance. The lot that has to be posted should be dispatched first and the ones to be hand delivered could be done 1 month to 15 days prior your wedding date.

5. Wedding dress, Makeup artist and photographer:

Have your wedding dress delivered 15 days prior your wedding date for you would have time for last minute alterations. Fix your make-up artist and have a trial done. Plan with your photographer your pre wedding, wedding and reception shoots, this would work smooth on the D day.

With these points taken care of, I am sure the rest of your wedding can be handled easily.
