How to Look Good Close Up? Little Tricks From a Stylist

Flickr

Models do not wake up looking perfect and that is a fact. Hours spent on nurturing your good looks are always spent for a good cause. However, when it comes to trending and looking good, it has become hugely accepted to look good close up. And to achieve this effect, you will also have to spend hours on working on yourself. Here are some tricks on looking good close up coming from a stylist.

Pores

The first thing you do not want to be seen are the pores. In order to disguise them, you will not need a product that will hide your natural beauty, but a product that will let it radiate through. This trick implies applying a good primer before foundation, which will smoothen your pores and help the foundation stay longer on your skin. This way, the pores will be masked and unbelievably smooth when you touch your skin.

Lashes

Fake lashes are out, except on parties. The last thing you will need on a regular everyday occasion when you want to feel good about yourself are thick lashes. Instead, you should try using a good mascara with a fine formula that will lengthen and improve volume of your lashes. However, if your lashes are really short and you cannot seem to help them, then it would be okay to use shorter ones on the outer parts of the eye to achieve a sexy look. This will also demand adding mascara to achieve a natural look, so it is recommended to comb the lashes from the root till the end to avoid making clumps.

Blusher

Having too much make up can be heavy for the skin, especially if you do not have the time to change and remove it. This is why it is recommended to use blusher at the right places on your cheeks. Pink cheeks have always been in, but now are used slightly, to achieve the effect of healthy pink radiant skin. Pick your favourite colour that goes along with your make up and tap the brush slightly on your cheek bones, and add some on your nose.

Concealer

Since no skin is perfect and almost everybody has a flaw or two, you can hide them with a concealer which will come after foundation. Note that concealer should not cover the entire face, but just those flaws you need to modify. An extra tip is to tap it with your finger, without putting pressure to the skin, in order for it to stay longer. To conceal dark circles around your eyes, you must not use lighter tones from your skin, because the skin will end up looking grey.

Eyebrows

Having full eyebrows is the marker of youth. To achieve the effect of facial rejuvenation, you should have your eyebrows well groomed. Even though it may look acceptable while you are in front of the mirror, never overdraw them! Instead, use a good brow pencil which is the same colour as your eyebrows and just fill in the missing parts.

Shimmer

An extra tip coming from our stylist has something to do with looking dewy. A trick for achieving this effect (since models definitely do not wake up looking like that) is to mix fine body shimmer  or eye shadow with a few drops of baby oil. Apply some of it on your collar bone, shins and shoulders, but do not use too much to avoid looking like you desperately need a shower. If you do not have baby oil, you can use a regular bronzer which will work just fine as well
