Ahead of our trip, they curated a deeply personalized itinerary that brought the destination to life in the most meaningful way. Our first day was spent on a guided, full-day tour with an incredibly knowledgeable local named Medhi, someone we connected with so much, we still keep in touch via WhatsApp. The day unfolded like a dream: visiting local artisans and workshops through his company Medina Workshops, blending our own custom perfumes and colognes (a family favorite!), selecting fabrics for beautifully handcrafted slippers (Magazin Des Babouches pulled out all of the special touches), and ending in the city’s bustling central square where we were expertly guided through the must-visit shops.

Another standout was a sidecar experience… an unforgettable adventure that took us beyond the Medina and into its outskirts before zipping back through the lively streets (with a spontaneous ice cream stop that the kids still talk about!). The concierge also seamlessly secured coveted tickets to the Yves Saint Laurent Museum and Majorelle Garden, complete with a charming horse carriage ride to and from, as well as a sought-after rooftop lunch reservation and a thoughtfully curated list of the best shopping boutiques in the area. From hard-to-get dining reservations to once-in-a-lifetime experiences, every detail was handled with care and precision, allowing us to simply immerse ourselves in the magic of Marrakech.

Beyond the walls of La Sultana, Marrakech reveals itself as a culinary destination in its own right… one where dining is not just a meal, but a total sensory experience. The city’s food scene is elevated, eclectic, and deeply atmospheric, blending traditional Moroccan flavors with global influences, incredible entertainment, and impressive immersive design. Some of our most memorable meals took place across the city, each offering a completely different lens into Marrakech’s vibrant dining scene. Lunch at DarDar Rooftop was a standout, with its breezy rooftop setting, chic crowd, and sweeping views over the Medina… perfect for lingering over fresh, flavor-packed dishes in the warm Moroccan sun. Dinner at La Trattoria transported us to a hidden Italian oasis, tucked behind lush gardens and candlelit pathways, where refined cuisine meets old-world charm in one of the city’s most romantic settings. At Bo Zin, the energy shifted to something more contemporary and electric… a stylish, open-air space where Asian-inspired cuisine, music, and a fashionable crowd come together seamlessly, making it a favorite for those looking for a lively night out. Then there was Palais Jad Mahal… a true showstopper and, without question, one of the most unforgettable dining experiences of our trip. Part restaurant, the other part performance, Palais Jad Mahal delivers a full-scale dinner club experience that feels both opulent and wildly fun. Think richly decorated interiors, velvet draping, glowing lanterns, and a nonstop lineup of live entertainment – from dancers to fire shows to costumed musicians – that keeps the energy high all night long. It was such a vibrant, immersive scene that we even let the kids stay up until midnight to take it all in (sorry grandparents!), completely captivated by the spectacle unfolding around them. Take note, Las Vegas… this is how dinner clubs are done. Together, these experiences prove that Marrakech isn’t just a feast for the senses visually… it’s a culinary playground that deserves just as much attention.
