Summer Fun at Lake Tahoe's Squaw Valley USA!

Make a reservation at The Resort at Squaw Creek or Village at Squaw Valley to enjoy late summer golf, mountain sports, hiking, great dining and some outstanding events at the Village at Squaw Valley USA!

Here is a list of some of my favorite restaurants and late summer - early fall events that will take place at Lake Tahoe's Squaw Valley USA. Lodging packages are available for all weekends and events.

Squaw Valley USA Summer Events

Peaks & Paws August 24 & 25 12-6 p.m.

If every dog has its day, then Peaks & Paws at Squaw Valley is it! This year’s event will feature two days packed full of pet friendly elements and activities. Guests will find an incredible variety of animal themed artists & vendors, wine tasting with some of California’s best boutique wineries, amazing microbrews and live bluegrass music on two stages! This year there will be a greatly expanded music lineup, with some of the best national and regional bluegrass/Americana bands around. Everyone will be howling along as the sun sets on the peaks of Squaw Valley. $5 entry donation. $20 wine tasting ticket. Beer will be available for $4 per beer. All proceeds benefit Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe.

Annual Foam Fest August 31 2-6 p.m. 

Hosted by Disabled Sports USA Far West, a craft brew festival complete with rockin' blues music. This event is one of the most highly anticipated festivals in the Tahoe area. Beer enthusiasts can sample from more than 50 craft beers while supporting a great cause. The famous "hit the slopes" raffle will feature great prizes including season passes, lift tickets, skis, snowboards and winter gear.

Annual Alpen Wine Fest September 1 2-5 p.m. 

Wine Tasting, Live music, Silent Auction & Raffle – Join us from 2 to 5pm for a benefit wine tasting, $40 includes a Spiegelau crystal souvenir wine glass and tastings from over 40 Vineyards.  Also peruse the huge silent auction & raffle, and enjoy free live music all to benefit Can Do MS, a foundation providing wellness & education for people with Multiple Sclerosis   Click here for details.    Guitar Strings vs. Chicken Wings September 6; 6-10 p.m.  A night of epic monstrous chicken wing proportions.  Bands and restaurants will square off against each other in an effort to raise funds and awareness for the Tahoe Institute for Natural Sciences.  Wing vs. Wing, Band vs. Band, it is a night you will not want to miss in The Village at Squaw Valley. Fat Tire Festival September 13–15 

The Tahoe Fat Tire Festival returns to Squaw Valley for the second year! Enjoy mountain bike races, sweet single track rides both on and off site, awesome movies, MTB clinics, and plenty of beer from New Belgium Brewing!  This is one mountain bike event that you don’t want to miss!

Tahoe Sierra Century September 14 7 a.m.

The Tahoe Sierra Century Ride has earned praise for its scenic routes, challenging hill climbs (60 and 100 mile routes), full support services, great food and incredible music. We look forward to making the 2012 ride an enjoyable, memorable experience for all. The Tahoe Sierra Century is a local Tahoe fund-raiser with all proceeds benefiting the Music Programs at North Tahoe Middle and High Schools.

IRONMAN Lake Tahoe September 22 5 a.m.

Debuting this year, IRONMAN comes to Lake Tahoe, and the race finish comes to The Village at Squaw Valley. Athletes are looking forward to this pristine venue that draws thousands of visitors each year. See website for complete course information, race day details, and spectator information.

Oktoberfest September 28 2-6 p.m. 

Held in conjunction with the 2013 Laxtoberfest Tournament, The Squaw Valley Oktoberfest Celebration hosts traditional Bavarian Music and Folk Dancers, Benefit Beer Garten, Brats & Kraut & games from 2 to 6 pm. All entertainment at the event is free. Fundraiser for the Tahoe Truckee Lacrosse Association. $10 admission includes specialty glass and first beer, $5 for additional beer.

Village at Squaw Valley

Hiker's Delight

Bluesdays Tuesdays

Every Tuesday in July and August, enjoy a free blues concert during Bluesdays at Squaw in The Village from 6-8:30pm. Dance in the late summer afternoon sun while you sip a cold drink. After the concert, stay in the Village to round out your Tuesday.

Art, Wine & Music Festival

Squaw Valley's base village will burst with color, taste, and sound as fine artists, crafts makers, performers and musicians come to participate in this fun, two-day annual event. The Art, Wine & Music Festival features two performance stages, restaurants and shops, and walkways lined with fine art booths and exhibits. Stay at The Village at Squaw Valley and take full advantage of this fun-filled summer event. You'll receive two glasses for wine sampling during one day of the festival.

Brews, Jazz & Funk Fest

With a great selection of beer for festival goers to sample and an incredible line-up of music both days the Brews, Jazz & Funk Fest is your chance to make great summer memories.
