At Baccarat Hotel New York, the idea of “traveling in style” has officially gone to the dogs—and in the most dazzling way possible.
The Fifth Avenue-adjacent address, long associated with crystal, couture-level interiors, and a certain Parisian sense of occasion, has teamed up with The D Diamond New York to introduce the Canine Couture Diamond Experience. Translation: your dog’s collar just got a serious glow-up.

This is not a quick browse-and-buy situation. Instead, guests (and their VIPs—Very Important Pooches) are invited into a Champagne-fueled, in-suite design session led by The D Diamond New York founder Racheli Waters Shamir. It’s part trunk show, part design atelier, with just enough theater to make it memorable. Diamonds are examined and each detail is tailored to the dog in question. Is your pup more Upper East Side polish or downtown scene-stealer? There’s a collar for that.
Shamir’s brand was built on the idea that the bond between humans and their dogs deserves the same level of craftsmanship as any fine jewelry collection. Each piece is handmade in New York using 18K gold and an array of natural and lab-grown D-color VVS diamonds, selected for their exceptional clarity and brilliance. The aesthetic leans refined, though never without a sense of humor—diamond-studded paw charms, sculptural silhouettes, and a signature ruby accent that nods to Baccarat’s heritage without feeling overly formal. Select designs feature exclusive charms inspired by the hotel itself, available only to guests who commission pieces through the experience.

Beyond the sparkle, there’s substance. The brand directs a portion of proceeds to canine welfare initiatives, including Social Tees Animal Rescue, reinforcing that these pieces carry a bit of purpose along with their polish.
The setting, of course, plays its own starring role. As the global flagship for storied Baccarat, the hotel brings more than 250 years of design heritage into a distinctly modern New York context. Interiors by the Paris-based duo Gilles & Boissier layer rich textures, lacquered finishes, and an almost cinematic use of light—particularly in the bar, where Baccarat crystal refracts across every surface. There’s a Spa de La Mer tucked below, a 55-foot marble pool that feels lifted from the Côte d’Azur, and salon-style spaces that make even an afternoon tea feel like an occasion.

The Canine Couture Diamond Experience fits neatly into that world—equal parts indulgent and self-aware. Pricing begins at $1,000 for the consultation, which is credited toward commissions starting at $7,500, placing it firmly in the realm of collectors, connoisseurs, and those who appreciate a little wink with their luxury.
For Baccarat Hotel New York’s General Manager Israël Benyaïr, the collaboration reflects a broader philosophy: hospitality that feels personal, imaginative, and just a touch unexpected.
Because in New York, style isn’t limited to what you wear; it extends to who walks beside you.
