Gordon ‘Butch’ Stewart, founder of the beloved family-welcoming Beaches Resort and adult-only Sandals Resorts, flew with his family to Turks and Caicos in 1995. Stewart’s father was an avid sailor and would sail from Canada to the Caribbean. He told Stewart that of all the places he has sailed to in the world, ‘Turks and Caicos is the most beautiful place in the world.’
Stewart’s son, Adam Stewart, is now the Executive Chairman of the Caribbean-based resort company and President of the Sandals Foundation. “We lost my father (Gordon ‘Butch’ Stewart) five and a-half years ago,” said Adam Stewart recently at the grand opening celebration of Beaches Turks and Caicos Treasure Beach Village. “He was a champion in believing of what is possible – the Caribbean dream, Caribbean tourism and Caribbean people, more than anybody else I know.”
Gordon ‘Butch’ Stewart would have loved to have seen the debut of the new $150 million expansion on the west end of the resort’s property overlooking the world-renowned Grace Bay Beach. This new luxury village adds an elevated dimension for multi-generational families at the Beaches Turks and Caicos.
“Treasure Beach Village at Beaches Turks and Caicos represents the next chapter for Beaches,” said Adam Stewart. “It is part of a broader ($1 billion) expansion that includes future resorts in Exuma, Barbados, Jamaica and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. It reflects our continued commitment to elevating the Beaches product, investing in the Caribbean and creating more opportunities for families to spend meaningful time together in this region.”

Honoring ‘Butch’ Stewart
The beloved signature Butch’s Chop House at Sandals Resorts, is now debuting at Beaches Turks and Caicos Treasure Beach Village. Known for its upscale steakhouse dining experience, the menu offers premium cuts of beef and freshly caught seafood in an elegant Caribbean-inspired ambiance.
Named after Sandals founder Gordon “Butch” Stewart, the restaurant specializes in Midwestern Black Angus and Wagyu steaks, seafood and lobster dishes, gourmet sides and sauces, fine wines and craft cocktails.
Popular items often include conch chowder, filet mignon, ribeye steaks, lamb chops, and lobster mac and cheese.

Art & Beauty
Another standout element at Beaches Turks & Caicos new Treasure Beach Village is its strong connection to local Turks and Caicos craftsmanship and island culture.
The architecture and décor throughout this village is incorporated on the walls and carved ceiling details. The theme throughout includes the island’s marine life, sea turtles, birds and seahorses. Bright coastal colors are inspired by Grace Bay’s turquoise waters.
Self-taught artist Richard McGhie’s eye-catching ‘Leading the Pack’ acrylic wall mural by the lagoon pool is of a turtle family swimming in a reef. This artist has only been painting for about seven years, and his piece reflects a young turtle swimming slightly ahead of its family. McGhie said that this piece ‘showcases guidance, protection and generational continuity.’

Another local artist, Ancy Dorisca created ‘Paradise Found’ with string, metal and wood. This self-taught string artist is known as an extraordinary local creator as he transforms nails and thread into dimensional Caribbean forms. His birds reflect his patience, precision and island creativity.

Large Great Barrier Reef
During the day, guests have the opportunity to take a Hobie Cat, kayak or paddle board out into the crystal blue clear water. Beaches water sports staff will also take guests out for a snorkel boat trip to explore Princess Alexandra National Park. Turks and Caicos is home to the third largest Great Barrier Reef. The reef stretches approximately 340 miles around the islands, and is home to a rich diversity of marine life. It’s a prime destination for snorkeling and diving enthusiasts. For an additional fee, guests can get their diving certification at Beaches Turks and Caicos to get an elevated view of the island’s vibrant underwater ecosystems.

For a limited time, guests can get up to $500 of instant credits on selected stays at Treasure Beach Village. The Grand Opening offer is available to book through May 31, 2026 for anytime travel.
