The latest edition of the Business of Fashion's 500 List was released yesterday detailing the 500 most influential people in the industry. While we expected big names like Anna Wintour and Christian Louboutin, new names are popping up like Public School’s co-founders and designers Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne. And the list doesn’t just include popular faces you’re likely to see at fashion week, either. Big names behind the scenes like investors, CEOs, photographers, hair stylists, art directors and museum curators are all part of the top 500 list, showing just a glimpse of what goes into making this trillion dollar industry run.

Even breaking down the list by country and role, perusing the BoF 500 list is no easy feat. Over 50 percent of the members come from just three countries—the U.S., the U.K. and France—while over 20 percent are designers. In creating this list of global influences in every faucet of the industry, judges chose to reach out to last year’s BoF 500 to ask who they personally believe should be included. After receiving over 2,000 new names they narrowed it back down to 500, which included “55 nationalities in 40 countries, across eight distinct categories.” The BoF 500 site also has a live activity feed of their members as well as ongoing updates on their work.
