That Hansel is so hot right now. Today, during Paris Fashion Week, Derek Zoolander and Hansel made a surprise runway appearance at the Maison Valentino show. Reprising their roles from the 2001 comedy Zoolander, Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson basically caused every audience member to lose their freaking minds when the two closed the show for the Italian house. The second Stiller and Wilson took to the runway the audience broke out into screams and standing ovations, even celebs like Kate Mara, Olivia Palermo and Nicky Hilton couldn’t keep their cool. And you wouldn’t for a moment believe they weren’t actual male models—they’re both really, really, ridiculously, good looking.
Valentino designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli said the actors came up with the stunt and they were more than happy to oblige. “We love fashion. We think that we have to have fun. I mean, that’s what fashion is for,” Piccioli told WWD. “We work seriously, but we don’t take everything so seriously. It’s something different.” And they made sure to combine both fashion and fun by dressing the two in custom Valentino. Derek wore a custom Night Butterflies brocade suit with hand-embroidered overcoat and black creepers, while Hansel was outfitted in a silk-continent print pajama suit with double cashmere overcoat and open sneakers.
Of course this also marked the announcement of the Zoolander sequel which will (finally) hit theaters February 12, 2016. For us, it feels like forever, but we’ll always have this amazing Blue Steel moment to hold us over.
