We’ve never seen an anniversary-edition glossy quite like this. To celebrate 35 years, i-D magazine collaborated with photographer Alasdair McLellan (who got his start at the publication) to snap 18 of the biggest models on the scene for a collection of limited-edition covers. That’s right there are 18 different editions to collect. Cover models include Lara Stone, Kate Moss, Jourdan Dunn, Edie Campbell, Daria Werbowy, Freja Beha Erichsen, Stella Tennant, Grace Hartzel, Anna Ewers, Natalie Westling, Małgosia Bela, Karly Loyce, Adrienne Juliger, Greta Varlese, Tyler Littlejohns, Rianne Van Rompaey, Damaris Goddrie and Jean Campbell. Whew. Surprisingly fans won’t see i-D regulars like Cara Delevingne and Lindsey Wixson, but there a ton of other stars to make up for it.
As this is a major birthday issue, the magazine is filled articles that focus on the company and how it became such a mainstay with the fashion set. Interviews are conducted with makeup artists, stylists, writers, photographers, editors and hair stylists who helped make the publication what it is today and 11 designers—including Vivienne Westwood, Karl Lagerfeld, Raf Simons, Phoebe Philo and Alexander Wang—were invited to create limited-edition cover looks.
