After Elie Saab’s Spring Haute Couture show, we couldn’t imagine a ready-to-wear collection that would be able to top its splendor. However, this is one of those rare occasions when a luxury designer has the ability to put out dazzling designs season after season. While the couture collection was a back-to-back lineup of jaw-dropping garments and red carpet-ready dresses, the selection of ready-to-wear items for fall brilliantly focuses on a jewel-tone color palate with intricate details that can only be considered innately “Elie Saab.”
Not all of us frequent award shows and red carpet events; however, this tragic truth is no reason to deprive ourselves of the figure-flattering designs constructed by this famous Lebanese designer. This stunning collection features a range of both day and evening looks designed specifically for the modern day woman.
Masculine tailoring is beautifully showcased in daytime looks. Structured satin jumpsuits and high-waisted trousers are paired with transparent blouses and stylish, floor-length winter white coats. These strong, clean lines make a powerful statement while maintaining ladylike appeal. Many day dresses are sculpted and form-fitting while others draw in tightly at the waist with defining peplum and a full skirt that hits just above the knee.
Softer lines and feminine silhouettes come out to play in the eveningwear selections. Delicate lace gently cascades across the body in a suggestive and sexy fashion with seductive transparent slits and cut-outs. With sheer elements perfectly positioned on the body, evening gowns are skillfully constructed to achieve a look that is both alluring and elegant.
