NYFW: Men’s is off to a rocky start. While the inaugural shows held in July were considered, for the most part, an overall success, it looks like there are already some scheduling problems for next season. The Fall/Winter 2016 shows will now take place on February 1 to 4 instead of the original January 28 to 31 dates. The change in schedule will also mean a change in venues—the shows will now be held at Skylight Clarkson North, just a few blocks away from the first home at Skylight Clarkson Sq.

According to Mark Beckham, the business director of fashion week for the CFDA (which organizes the event), the dates needed to be altered so as not to conflict with shows in Paris, which end on January 30. “With the proximity of the men’s and women’s shows and the schedule in Europe, we’re pushing our dates to accommodate the maximum number of retailers and editors,” he told WWD, adding that the change was “unfortunate.”

Despite the scheduling issues, it seems NYFW: Men's major sponsors were pleased with the overall response to the new Fashion Week and will be returning. All the major sponsors, including Cadillac, Amazon Fashion and Shinola will be back this season, including Dockers which has just signed on. In addition to returning sponsors, Beckham estimates that the number of shows will be roughly the same as well, with around 51 designers. As of publication, Beckham and his teams have yet to announce any names officially showing next year.
