Over the weekend the Cannes Film Festival came to a close, and we had to say goodbye to another season of red carpet antics and Pinterest-worthy gowns. This season was absolutely spectacular, and stars pulled out all the stops, wearing some of the more beautiful dresses we’ve seen in a while. From opening to closing ceremonies Kirsten Dunst was absolutely stunning, wearing everything from on-trend Gucci appliqué dresses to sweet and traditional Valentino gowns. Blake Lively was another Cannes favorite who showed off her baby bump in slim-cut gowns in bright colors and glittering crystals. Supermodels were the breakout stars of the event, showing up to almost every premiere decked in the latest off-the-runway looks—less style-savvy actresses didn’t stand a chance. Over the weekend a few stars made a last-minute running bid for best dressed of the Cannes red carpet. Elle Fanning wore a sheer blush-toned gown with floral appliqués by Zuhair Murad, Kirsten Dunst wore a nude, strapless piece from Valentino Couture, and Alessandra Ambrosio opted for a ball gown/pant hybrid from Zhair Murad.
