Perched above the glittering storefronts of Rodeo Drive, Monsieur Dior by Dominique Crenn is not only a restaurant, but also a dining salon where haute couture and haute cuisine meet. Located on the third floor of the Dior flagship boutique in Beverly Hills, the restaurant represents the fashion house’s first full-service dining destination in the United States and is overseen by acclaimed Michelin-starred chef Dominique Crenn.

Walking into the space feels a bit like stepping into a fashion atelier that happens to serve extraordinary food. Designed by architect Peter Marino, the dining room balances Parisian elegance with a relaxed California feel. Soft green tones, abstract fabrics, and botanical artwork reflect Christian Dior’s well-known love of gardens and nature.

One of the most striking design features is the sculptural ceiling above the bar, where white rose-petal shapes combine creating a flowing floral bouquet. The curved bar, finished in ebony and onyx, anchors the room. Large windows fill the space with light, and the indoor-outdoor layout gives the restaurant an airy terrace-like feeling.

Tables are minimalist white, allowing the Dior-branded dishware and the vibrant colors of the plates to take center stage.

Service at Monsieur Dior mirrors the luxury surrounding. Servers explain the inspiration behind the plates, many of which draw subtle references to Dior’s fashion archives or cinematic moments connected to the brand.

Despite the glamorous setting, the atmosphere remains welcoming and casual.

The cuisine blends French technique with a lighter Californian style. Chef Dominique Crenn’s menu focuses on beautifully plated dishes that are both artistic and refined.

Among the standout plates is the black truffle agnolotti, with delicate pasta swimming in a fragrant mushroom broth that is indulgent yet balanced. Other appetizers include the dry aged tuna tartare with purple yam chips, beef tartar with an egg yolk jam and seared scallops in a blood orange and caper beurre blanc sauce.

Main dishes include a green goddess salad, abalone, confit salmon with spinach, a guinea hen with potato millefeuille and slow-cooked beef short rib with truffle.

A luxurious caviar service with smoked crème fraîche and egg yolk jam is also available.

Desserts are also couture-inspired. A coconut pistachio tart topped with berries has a jewel-box appearance, while the chocolate mousse is shaped with quilted textures, with nods to the iconic Lady Dior handbag.

Even the bread is a standout, with French butter and a melt-in-your-mouth brioche.

Monsieur Dior is the kind of place where dining becomes part of the larger Dior world of fashion, art, design, and gastronomy, woven together into one experience. It’s undeniably Beverly Hills, both glamorous and theatrical with plenty of beautiful servers and diners, but the food holds its own beneath the sparkle.
