Grosvenor Americas, part of the Grosvenor Group, one of the world’s largest privately-owned property companies, recently unveiled a three-bedroom, 2.5 bathroom, 1,825 interior square-foot model penthouse at Crescent, San Francisco’s newest boutique residential development.
Situated atop historic Nob Hill, Crescent is comprised of 44 custom residences within a boutique eight-story building, representing the first new, significant residential development in the neighborhood in decades.
Grosvenor collaborated with Robert A.M. Stern Architects (RAMSA) on this project, representing RAMSA’S first multi-family residential building in San Francisco. The penthouse is now on the market for $7.1M.
Throughout the building, RAMSA designed a collection of distinctive floorplans, brought to life by award-winning Champalimaud Design. In a remarkable coup, Crescent represents the first residential project on the West Coast for the celebrated New York-based interior designer.
The Penthouse is one of only four homes that sit on the top floor of Crescent, representing the only new penthouses to debut in the prestigious Nob Hill neighborhood in decades. In addition to its 1,825 interior square foot area, is 925 square feet of exterior space, encompassing two private terraces on the main floor. A private staircase leads to a 527-square-foot private roof that affords residents an indoor-outdoor living experience in the heart of San Francisco.
It is designed and furnished by San Francisco-based Jeff Schlarb Design Studio, complementing the building’s architecture by RAMSA with elite interiors by Champalimaud Design.

“The home is an indoor-outdoor/ top-floor oasis,” he continued, “as residents have a privately accessed rooftop terrace overlooking downtown San Francisco and the Bay, along with two private terraces immediately off the living spaces.”
Jeff Schlarb Design Studio designed the interior décor of the model penthouse to allow residents to feel soothed, yet stylish. A palette of soft blues, teals and neutral tones are complemented by elegant brass, gold and glass accents. He sought to add an artistic edge to the classic, Parisian-style interiors, by conceiving a gentle flow from room to room — through the balance of the furnishings’ shapes, layers, and color palette. The penthouse is intended to be inviting yet soothing, a place just as suitable for group entertaining as it is for personal solace and reflection.
Upon entry, residents arrive into a formal foyer and hallway with a gallery wall, featuring a curated selection of artwork including UNTITLED, a painting by Christoph Schrein by Saatchi Art, as well as a piece by Jeff Schlarb Design Studio. Speckled wallpaper by Rebecca Atwood in Cloud Blue crowns the ceiling and serves as a backdrop to the dramatic Ro Sham Beaux hanging pendant lights in antique silver leaf. A statement-making milk-washed sideboard with antique gold hardware and accents by Gabby Home completes the formal entry space.

The foyer leads to open living and dining rooms. Highlights in the living area include a dynamic wallcovering by Philip Jeffries, a sleek white Bernhardt bench, custom blue sofa by JSDS Custom, a matte white ceramic chandelier by LA-based Entler Studio, and a vintage coffee table from 1stdibs. Throughout the home, seven-inch-wide light oak flooring is hand-laid to visually direct the eye to the views from the windows and terraces, while custom scalloped molding pays homage to RAMSA’s exterior design.
Schlarb outfitted the dining area with a dramatic Visual Comfort Mia Chandelier in antique brass, vintage dining chairs and art by Hunt Rettig and Matt Gonzales from Dolby Chadwick Gallery. The kitchen, opening onto the dining area and designed for entertaining, features top-of-the-line integrated appliances from Sub-Zero and Wolf. Custom cabinetry, engineered and imported from Germany, is complemented by honed Mediterraneo marble countertops and backsplashes. Finishing touches include Dornbracht polished chrome fixtures and Valli&Valli hardware throughout the home.
Three generously sized bedrooms are positioned to overlook the iconic views of San Francisco and the Bay. The focal point of the Master is the view and immediate access to an expansive private terrace that spans the room’s entire south wall. Two spacious bathrooms are clad almost entirely in Bianco Dolomite marble, including the walls, floors, and counters atop custom vanities. In the master bathroom, a Kohler tea-for-two soaking tub is enhanced with book-matched marble and cove accent lighting to create a relaxing ambiance. A separate shower enclosed in milk-white glass partitions with polished chrome trim completes the five-fixture bath. The powder room in the home provides a warmer palette of light oak cabinetry complementing Bianco Dolomite countertops and floors.
“My vision in designing the penthouse at Crescent was to keep drawing upon the idea of creating a space that feels exciting yet familiar at the same time. The color palette, in particular, draws upon nature and complements the sky/ bay sightlines visible from the terraces that span the home.”
