Bowlus Road Chief

Since the coronavirus pandemic, Geneva Long, Founder & CEO of Bowlus Road Chief has noticed a 15% increase in purchases by people new to recreational vehicles. That's 85% in 2020 vs. 70% average. Product inquiries are up 4.5 times this year too, because many luxury travelers are ordering ultra-premium RVs for domestic summer vacations. Instead of staying in hotels when visiting family and friends, they are playing it safer cruising the highways in a RV.

After the summer, travelers will continue to take their self contained travel trailer out on the road, especially if #saferathome mandates continue through the winter season. Long said delivery is already up 100% in preparation for holiday travel.

Originally designed in the 1930s by aircraft designer and engineer Hawley Bowlus, who is best known for building the famed aircraft Spirit of St. Louis. Bowlus trained Charles and Anne Morrow Lindbergh, and later worked on a prototype of a high quality aluminum trailer for luxurious travel comfort and maximum performance. The Bowlus Road Chief became the first travel trailer in the world.
