Dramatic Panoramas, Unforgettable Golf and Luxurious Offerings in Monterey County

Beyond the world-renowned golfing experiences at Pebble Beach, Monterey County is best known for its iconic landmarks and top-notch vineyards and wineries. Along 99 miles of prime Pacific coastline, it is approximately 100 miles south of San Francisco and about 50 miles from San Jose. On average the temperature is between 45°F to 70°F year-round which provides a platform for visitors to experience the most out of the region and explore some of the area’s main attractions.

The scenic 17-Mile Drive is one of the most popular drives in the world, hugging the Pacific coastline and providing great photo opportunities at stops including: The Lone Cypress, Spanish Bay, Stillwater Cove, the Del Monte Forest and the world-renowned Pebble Beach Golf Links. While in the area the iconic Big Sur, Cannery Row, Carmel-by-the-Sea and Old Fisherman’s Wharf offer a glimpse of Monterey’s unique neighborhoods and experiences all within 30 miles of each other.

Other major attractions include the Monterey Bay Aquarium which features more than 35,000 animals, Pinnacles National Park (the newest national park in CA) and Monterey Wine Country, which is home to 225 vineyards, 82 bonded wineries and 65 tasting rooms. Last but certainly not least, if you are a golf lover, there are 21 public courses in the county including the famed Pebble Beach Golf Links, Spyglass Hill Golf Course and Monterey Peninsula Golf Course.

The 12 towns in the county each offer a diverse array of things to see and do, as well as a number of top-notch luxurious resorts to plan your stay. In Pebble Beach, Casa Palmero is an intimate, Mediterranean-style hideaway which offers the opportunity for a memorable and romantic California getaway. With more than 500 restaurants and bars in the greater county, the freshness of ingredients reign supreme as there is an abundance of locally procured ingredients and a year-round growing season, which presents amazing food wherever you choose to dine. Some of their award-winning and must-dine restaurants include Aubergine, Stokes Adobe and Hay’s Place Restaurant.

While in the area, visitors must relax at The Spa at Pebble Beach, one of only 90 spas in the world to receive the coveted Forbes Five-Star Award. The spa is unique in that it includes Vichy showers, sauna and steam facilities and a full-service salon that offers classic straight-razor shaves and barber services.
