The 2027 Kia Sportage X-Line Prestige Plug-In Hybrid combines the practicality of a compact SUV, the confidence of all-wheel drive and the quiet, low-emission driving of an EV.
For drivers who want to try electric driving without giving up the freedom of a gasoline engine, the Sportage PHEV is a smart choice. Including the X-Line Prestige trim, it adds enough upscale touches to make the cabin feel more premium than its price might suggest.

A More Sophisticated Exterior
The latest Sportage manages to look rugged without going full off-road, with a wide stance, sculpted bodywork, gloss-black accents and the more adventurous detailing. The extras include 19-inch alloy wheels, raised roof rails and a panoramic sunroof.
LED lighting front and rear gives the Sportage a crisp nighttime signature, and the available exterior colors including Wolf Gray, Jungle Green, Vesta Blue and Shadow Matte Gray work well with its modern design. Both the panoramic sunroof with power shade and the smart power liftgate are standard on the X-Line Prestige.

Inside: Surprisingly Luxe
Open the door and the Sportage makes an even stronger impression. The X-Line Prestige has a very technology-forward cabin housing a dual-screen setup with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and 12.3-inch navigation display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless smartphone charging, multiple USB-C ports, and Kia’s connected services are also included. A Harman Kardon premium audio system is also standard on the Prestige.
The seating is another highlight. SynTex premium upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel and a power-adjustable passenger seat give the Sportage a level of comfort that goes beyond basic compact-SUV territory.
Rear passengers get 39.5 inches of legroom, while cargo capacity measures 34.5 cubic feet behind the second row and 65.5 cubic feet with the rear seats folded.
The Plug-In Advantage
Under the hood is a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine paired with an electric motor, producing a combined 268 horsepower and 271 lb.-ft. of torque. All-wheel drive is standard, along with Eco, Sport and MyDrive modes and Snow, Mud and Sand terrain modes.
Kia estimates approximately 34 miles of all-electric driving range, enough to cover many daily commutes without using gasoline. Once the battery is depleted, the vehicle continues operating as a conventional hybrid rather than leaving you stranded looking for a charger. Kia estimates up to approximately 470 miles of total range.
Charging Is Easy
The Sportage PHEV uses a J1772 connection and is designed for Level 2 AC charging. Kia quotes approximately two hours for a full charge with a 240-volt charger in its current U.S. materials.
At $47,190 before the $1,495 destination charge, the X-Line Prestige is not inexpensive, but the equipment list is substantial.
The 2027 Kia Sportage X-Line Prestige Plug-In Hybrid is a good proposition for anyone who wants to make the transition toward electrification without completely changing the way they drive.
It is stylish enough for a night out, practical enough for a family road trip and efficient enough to make daily errands considerably more economical when you remember to plug it in. The interior is particularly impressive, with a comfortable, technology-rich environment that punches above the Sportage’s category.
