A New Beach Club Arrives on Long Bay

On the quieter side of Providenciales, where the water tends toward stillness and the crowds thin out, a new kind of day-to-night destination has quietly taken shape. Ámbra Beach Club & Restaurant, the latest venture from Beach Enclave Turks & Caicos, opened this spring along the shores of Long Bay—bringing a laid-back beach club sensibility to one of the Caribbean’s most serene stretches of coastline.

The concept draws directly from the personal experience of Beach Enclave CEO Vasco Borges, who grew up spending summers at beach clubs along the Portuguese coast. “With Ámbra, we wanted to bring a new concept to Turks and Caicos,” he said. “Being Portuguese, I spent many summers enjoying some of the best beach clubs across Europe. We’re bringing that same experience here.”

Mediterranean Table, Caribbean Shore

Executive chef and kitchen team lean into Mediterranean technique while leaning on what the island offers: hamachi crudo, conch ceviche, mussels and clams in white wine, grilled branzino finished with olive oil and herbs. Off the grill, ribeye, picanha, tiger prawns, and scarlet shrimp prepared al guajillo point to something more expansive than your typical beach lunch spot.

The anchor of the menu is the Arroz de Marisco—a Portuguese-style seafood rice meant for sharing, and the clearest expression of Ámbra. A lighter beach and lunch menu features tacos, bowls, fritto misto, and a beach club burger for those who want something more casual between swims.

The wine program leans into Provence rosé and fresh whites with Château Minuty, Whispering Angel, Sancerre, Albariño, and champagne options including Veuve Clicquot and Dom Pérignon.

Day Into Night

Ámbra operates from noon to 10 p.m. with poolside and seated menus. For something more private, a Sand + Stars package offers a table for two set directly on the beach, with Champagne waiting on arrival.

Sundays have their own rhythm as the club shifts into an all-day gathering format, with a full à la carte menu, live DJ sets from 2 to 6 p.m., and an atmosphere designed to carry guests from lunch through drinks and into dinner without anyone feeling the need to leave.

The Person Running It

Leading the operation is General Manager Matias Nascimento, who brings more than 25 years of hospitality experience across Europe, the UK, and the Caribbean—including senior roles in the Algarve, London, and most recently overseeing restaurant and bar operations across five luxury vessels for Atlas Ocean Voyages and Mystic Cruises.

Nascimento managed the full pre-opening and launch of Ámbra, and now oversees its day-to-day operation. His approach reflects the place’s central ambition: making something that feels effortless while running on structure. “Behind that simplicity is a highly structured operation designed to deliver consistency, quality, and a strong sense of place,” he said.
