Zak Brown (born November 7, 1971, in California) is an American former professional racing driver turned motorsport executive and currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of McLaren Racing.

After spending a decade competing internationally in series such as Formula Ford and British Formula 3, he pivoted to the business side of motorsport. In 1995 he founded Just Marketing International (JMI), which grew into the world’s largest motorsport marketing agency, a venture that cemented his reputation as a pioneer of sports-sponsor partnerships.

Brown joined McLaren in 2016 as Executive Director of McLaren Technology Group, then was appointed CEO of McLaren Racing in April 2018, before extending his contract through 2030. Under his leadership McLaren has undergone a dramatic revival: revitalizing its racing programs, modernizing infrastructure and sponsorship strategies, expanding into multiple racing series beyond F1 and steering the team back to competitive success.

Beyond business, Brown is co-owner of United Autosports, collects historical motorsport memorabilia, and remains passionate about racing, golf and the broader motorsport landscape.

Zak Brown joins Nicolai Tangen for a candid conversation on performance, pressure, and the relentless pursuit of excellence inside one of motorsport’s most storied teams. In this episode of In Good Company, he reflects on leadership, innovation, and the competitive edge that drives McLaren’s modern resurgence.
