Ever wanted to know the favorite meals of some of our U. S. Presidents? The tale about President Washington and the cherry tree wasn’t all fable— George Washington really did have penchant for cherries as well as fancy, Thursday night dinners. Jefferson liked exotic cuisine, especially French dishes and had a particular fondness for waffles. According to an article by Jennifer Treuting featured in Delish, President Johnson had a Fresca dispenser installed in the Oval office, while Ronald Regan loved licorice-flavored jelly beans. Whether you crave escargot like Jefferson or have a killer sweet tooth like President Reagan, in honor of the upcoming US Presidential Inauguration, you have the chance to dine like a president (no White Office personal chef necessary).

To celebrate the inauguration, LINCOLN Restaurant will feature a special, six-course “presidential inspired tasting menu.” The menu will honor six U.S. presidents— Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy, Bill Clinton, Ronald Reagan and Barack Obama. The courses will reflect each of the President’s favorite foods. The event has been organized by PRG Hospitality, a group that is behind both LINCOLN and the to-be-debuted, Teddy & The Bully Bar, which will pay tribute to former President Teddy Roosevelt when it opens later this year.

The exclusive Presidential menu will cost $45 and will be offered January 18 through January 21st. The tasting menu will include:

JFK Fish Chowder

Seared cod over potato chowder topped with bacon powder and crispy parsley leaves

Lincoln Oyster Salad

Crispy oysters, frisée, ginger compressed apples, bacon molasses vinaigrette

Obama Olive Oil Poached Salmon

Broccoli Lyonnaise, caramelized lemon, beurre fondue

Clinton Corn Flake Baked Fried Chicken

Jalapeño waffle, kumquat syrup

Roosevelt Rabbit Shepherd’s Pie

Braised Virginia rabbit, celery roots, parsnips, roasted pearl onions, carrot potato purée

Ronald Reagan Monkey Bread Pudding

Served with butter pecan ice cream
