Top automotive auction house Gooding & Co. is offering some multimillion-dollar collector cars at its stunning Scottsdale sale in Arizona on January 20 and 21.
Chief among the highly-desirable vehicles set to cross the auction block is a late-production Ferrari Classiche-certified 1959 Ferrari 250 GT LWB California Spider (above), estimated at up to $3.8 million. Finished in rare white paint, it was the 36th of only 50 LWB California Spiders ever built. One of the rarest and most coveted Ferraris in existence, it’s set to form the cornerstone of a world class collection.
Other Ferraris on offer at the Scottsdale sale include a 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 estimated at up to $1.6 million, and a 1965 Ferrari 500 Superfast estimated at up to $1.25 million. Also featured at the event will be an extremely rare, matching-numbers 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Alloy Gullwing (right), one of only 29 light-weight, alloy-bodied versions of the iconic car built for owners who wanted to race their vehicles, estimated at up to $3 million. The alloy Gullwings were equipped with a high- performance NSL motor, Rudge wheels and stiff suspension.
