What’s the price tag on a historical British landmark? For the Admiralty Arch in Great Britain, it was 60 million pounds. Recognizable for its curving shape, the building has served as a throughway between The Mall and Trafalgar Square and was, until very recently, home to government offices. But after being purchased for that hefty price tag of over 95 million in US dollars, the Admiralty Arch will be getting a new lease on life. Development company Prime Investors Captial will transform what was once a memorial to Queen Victoria, commissioned to be built by her son King Edward VII, into a 100-room, luxury hotel.
Guests will certainly get the royal treatment when staying at the Admiralty Arch; plans for the hotel will include both royal and presidential suites as well as a ballroom, spa, and fine dining. Sounds like a getaway fit for a king.
