As if you ever need an excuse for a Vegas trip, The Palazzo Las Vegas and The Venetian give you even more reason to buy that plane ticket. Masquerades, oversized banners, colorful parades and a little bit of magic bring this year’s three-month Carnevale spectacular to Sin City. The partnering hotels will celebrate the fantasy of Carnevale in true Vegas fashion with a plethora of classic Italian festivities, music and even some new experiences, beginning June 2.
Traditionally, Carnevale is a summer festival filled with awe and wonderment as it flows through the small villages and towns of Italy. With this in mind, the featured resorts hope to bring the same elaborate and impressive event to its guests. Winding its way through the property each night, The Venetian’s newest outdoor light show will make its debut showcasing brilliant colors along the iconic clock tower. Each evening, the Carnevale Festival Parade will take off with an electric light parade that dances its way throughout the resorts at 8 p.m. nightly.
“The magic of Carnevale is never knowing what unexpected surprise is around the corner and the distinctively themed months offer a unique and special experience every time you visit,” said John Caparella, president and chief operating officer of The Venetian, The Palazzo and Sands Expo. “Summer is always a fun and joyous time and Carnevale offers the perfect place to spend time and make lasting memories with friends and family.”
Let’s be honest, while colorful characters running through the streets and visual spectacles aren’t exactly unusual in Vegas, Carnevale’s costumes and larger-than-life theatrics are sure to keep you guessing with surprises around every turn. And feel free to visit again the following month because each month will represent a new aspect of Italy, again, reminding us that Vegas doesn’t need to be a once yearly trip.
If June is your month to soak up the Nevada sun, you’ll be able to enjoy Mese di Arte (Art Month) from June 1 – 30. The luxurious resorts will transform themselves into galleries with 3-D chalk artists, glassblower demonstrations and an interactive Art Walk for guests to partake in. Then again, if you like it hot — the weather, that is — July is your month, featuring Mese di Musica (Music Month) all month long. During July, aside from the pool parties, cool off with the breezy sounds of the resorts’ concert series featuring musicians and vocalists in The Venetian Showroom and outdoor stage.
Finally, my personal favorite, Wine and Food Month in August. Mese di Vino y Cucina will feature Italian cooking classes for guests of all ages and wine tastings from top winemakers for the 21+ crowd. During this month, meet and greets with chefs will be available along with enviable cooking demonstrations.
To reign in the final few who are not sold on the event, the resorts have offered special packages for Carnevale. Passaporto di Carnevale will be offered with discounts on select suites and entertainment as well as retail offers at The Grand Canal Shoppes and The Shoppes at The Palazzo.
