When you hear about a $37.5M price tag for a condo, Boston probably isn’t the first city that pops into your mind when considering its location. But that’s exactly where the new Millennium Tower’s 13,000-square-foot penthouse is being sold.
Sitting on the 60th floor and located in Downtown Crossing, unprecedented price makes the condo the most expensive sale in Boston to date, tripling 2011’s $13 million penthouse that sold in the Mandarin Oriental. The unit will take up the entire top floor of the new tower and will feature a 2,500-square-foot deck (you know, the size of an average home). Designed to attract the uber-wealthy, the 60th floor penthouse will come unfurnished.
Slated for completion in 2016, the $680 million tower has 442 units currently for sale with starting prices at $850,000 for a 759-square-foot one bedroom to one of 17 penthouses beginning at $7.6 million for a 3,300-square-foot unit. Millennium Tower will be the tallest residential building in downtown sitting high up in the sky at 685 feet with a glass façade for prime views of the city.
All homes come with kitchen concepts by Poggenpohl, wide-plank hardwood flooring in the foyer and are pre-wired for state-of-the-art communication systems. On the property will also be a private restaurant for owners and their guests run by none other than James Beard Foundation award-winning restaurateur and chef, Michael Mina. Exclusive to residents will also be FLX by Millennium, a gym and fitness concept that will cover 10,000 square feet of space inside the tower and will include yoga and Pilates studios.
Further amenities include: Club room with bar, library and terrace with fire pit; 24-hour concierge; a screening room; 24-hour valet; a junior Olympic-size pool; spa; and a children’s playroom. As of now over 150 units have been sold, but the $37.5M penthouse is still available. Interested buyers should contact Millennium Tower Boston sales center at 617-542-1555 or BostonLives@mtowerboston.com.
