Looking for something fun to do this weekend? Then head on over to Lansdowne Street in Boston for a food-filled ride aboard the Hot Dog Safari. TV 38’s Phantom Gourmet will be hosting the 23rd annual Hot Dog Safari on Saturday, May 19, from 12 to 4 p.m. The event, which will benefit the Joey Fund and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, will feature snacks from Boston restaurants such as Windy City Eats, Harrows Chicken Pies, Kowloon, Firefly’s, Dunkin’ Donuts, Kelley’s Square Pub, Kind Snacks, Pearl Meats, and The Sausage Guy.

Game On, Bleacher Bar, The Lansdowne Pub, La Verdad, Lucky Strike, and The House of Blues will all be participating in the festivities. Kids can have fun jumping around in bouncy houses, cruising down giant inflatable slides, and getting inked up with temporary tattoos. There will also be activities for the little ones headed up by Radio Disney, Ghost Busters of New Hampshire, and Six Flags of New England. The Phantom Gourmet Hot Dog Safari was founded by Eddie Andelman in 1989. It began as a simple bus tour for 200 people seeking the best hot dog in New England.

Eddie, known as “the godfather of sports talk radio,” helped the Safari grow until it became one of the top family events of the year, also raising millions of dollars for the Joey Fund and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. At the urging of Joe O’Donnell, founder of the Joey Fund, Eddie, Phantom Gourmet and Eddie’s sons, the Andelman brothers, the group has taken over the planning and promotion of the event. Dave, Mike, and Dan are dedicated to eradicating cystic fibrosis.

Tickets are $15 in advance and can be purchased in advance at HotDogSafari.com or at the door for $20 per person. Children under 10 years old receive complimentary admission.
