Prior to discovering The Spa at Conrad Miami, it was hard to imagine a genuinely peaceful retreat nestled among Miami’s busy Brickell Avenue. Luckily, The Spa, which is located amidst a stunning skyline with views from Level 24 of the hotel, offers its guests a calming taste of serenity dusted with the perfect bayside breeze for which Miami is known.
A Zen-like design immediately transports visitors into a tranquil state and the scent of homemade specialty candles looms from the hallways to treatment rooms. Fully-equipped locker rooms with sauna, refreshments and grooming accessories are readily available for all guests.
The smaller size of the facility by no means suggests it is lacking in any area, as the pristine treatment rooms, professional staff and quiet atmosphere are all perfect for anyone seeking a truly serene retreat from the outside world. A relaxation lounge is an excellent starting point to gather your thoughts; enjoy some fresh fruit and nuts, or lemon-infused water as you wait for your specialist to gather you for your treatment.
The boutique-style spa offers a treatment menu complete with various massages, facials and exhilarating soaks. On this particular day, I started with the Hydrotherapy Bath. The soak, which begins with a quick step up into a generously-sized, modern white tub, includes a choice of essential oils and bath salts.
Once the technician ignites the jets, a heavenly state ensues. The soak entails a welcomed attack of varying water jets that massage every inch of your body. The entire experience is accompanied by illuminated rotating colors under the water to help sooth your senses. The bath will leave you feeling weightless and your muscles will be eternally grateful and prepared for your upcoming massage. The soaks are typically followed by one of the signature massages. Try the Swedish, Deep Tissue or Hot Stone massage as numerous masseurs are on hand to provide a personally-tailored service for each client.
Post massage I opted for The Beauty Break Facial, which left my skin glowing, smooth and refreshed. One of the best features of The Spa, is that aestheticians use all organic skin care products from Eminence and Babor Baborganics. These high-end and naturally-developed prepared serums, cleansing lotions and exfoliants guarantee amazing results.
On your way back down from The Spa level, be sure to spend some post spa time taking in the stunning views of Biscayne Bay from one of the many outdoor viewing areas on the 24th floor lobby level; some areas also offer dining along the cusp of the building.
