Well, American Cruise Lines wants history buffs to choose them, and to entice such a demographic, they recently obtained an antique calliope for their newest ship, Queen of the Mississippi. In case you're not up on your 19th century musical instrument knowledge, it is actually a steam organ. Three New Mediterranean Ports a First for Crystal Cruises in 2013

Luxury cruise line Crystal Cruises has announced their intent to take their passengers off-the-beaten-path during their Mediterranean Cruise season. Aside from the usual destinations, Crystal ships will, for the first time, be making stops in Canakkale, Turkey; La Spezia, Italy; and Castellón de la Plana, Spain. Crystal Cruises Announces Itineraries for 2014 and Early 2015

Crystal Cruises recently announced its full year of worldwide voyages for 2014, and its itineraries up to mid-April 2015. The cruising line is the early bird of the flock luxury liners, being the first to unveil its itineraries for that time frame so far in advance. There are new seven- and 10-day cruises available in 2014. There are 16 maiden calls among the 194 total ports that span 68 countries. Falkland Islands the Latest Cruise Destination for Luxury Ships

Luxury cruise ships have been broadening their port of calls lately, no longer merely floating down the Mediterranean or sailing around the Bahamas. The Falkland Islands, located in the South Atlantic Ocean about 300 miles off the coast of Argentina, have become the newest destination hitting 2012/13 season itineraries. October 6 saw the first visit to the Islands by cruise ship Ushuaia which brought 84 guests to the capital of Stanley.
