The beginning of each new year is so exciting, with award shows and film festivals popping up all over the place, and the Sundance Film Festival is probably our favorite event. This fest consistently offers up some of the year's best films, many of which get Oscar nominations down the road (like the most recent Boyhood and Whiplash), and this year is pretty absurd.

From the Clooney Burn to Jennifer Lopez's "Globes": The Best Jokes, Flubs, & Photobombs From the Golden Globes

Jan 12, 2015  |   Contributor: Mila Pantovich

Last night's Golden Globes brought us some surprising—though not disappointing—wins (congrats Wes Anderson!) and tons of on-point jokes from the comedic hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. A lot can be said for what the wins mean for the future of entertainment (especially in terms of television due to Netflix and Amazon scoring some important awards and the fact that every TV winner was a first-timer), and as always, the flicks that do well at the Globes have a pretty great chance at doing well in the Oscar race.

We don't know about you, but with the recent announcements made regarding the casting for the new James Bond film Spectre (Christoph Waltz!), we are really excited to get thrown back in the world of 007. Kaleidescape Launches New Alto Movie Library & Player After Pressure from Film Industry

Dec 8, 2014  |   Contributor: JustLuxe Team

You may remember when we told you about the Kaleidescape Cinema One last year. With the ability to copy and store hundreds of movies in its system, the video player seemed pretty perfect. Well, apparently the film industry found the copy-based business model less than desirable and greeted Kaleidescape with trouble. Shifting gears and adapting, Kaleidescape has released the new Alto, which phases out the disc entirely (though you can see watch a DVD/Blu-ray if you really want to).

Here is How Susan Sarandon & Mythic Bridge are Helping Troubled Kids Through Filmmaking

Oct 25, 2014  |   Contributor: Mila Pantovich

On paper, Mythic Bridge seems like a soft-hearted Hollywood drama, the type that will make you do one of those snorting laugh-cries. Through the use of hands-on, narrative filmmaking education, the organization aims to improve the lives of disadvantage youths in New York City. See? The feature film is practically writing itself. Now all you need is someone to star in it…maybe Susan Sarandon? (Pssst…she's on the Advisory Board).

Apr 10, 2020  |   Contributor: Mila Pantovich

At the San Diego Film Festival last weekend, Theodore Melfi gave one of the best Q&A's to ever be given, sharing with the audience the details of how he nabbed the elusive Bill Murray for St. Vincent—his debut feature film that only took him around four weeks to write. Hamilton Leithauser Talks Post-Walkmen Black Hours, His Writing Process, the Coen Brothers & Drunk Cross-Eyed Germans

Sep 3, 2014  |   Contributor: Mila Pantovich  |  1 Comment

High school marked my musical awakening, a time when I started to really construct my own identity outside of my mom's water-damaged Cat Stevens records, my dad's old Johnny Cash, and the popular boy bands of the early 1990s (I'll never live that down). It was then I discovered my affinity for Nick Cave's poetic brutality, Morrissey's dramatic flair, Billy Bragg's political fortitude, and of course, The Walkmen's confident frontman Hamilton Leithauser who made every note seem essential.
