Short Path Distillery is soon to be the newest purveyor of locally-made craft rum and gin in Everett, near Boston. Founded by three friends who want to change the way we all think about spirits, the distillery will be "combining old-world distilling techniques with a new-world, chemistry-based approach to spirit development." Using locally sourced ingredients whenever possible, they will be handcrafting small batches using the "short path distillation" process that is done in a pot still. Though Short Path Distillery doesn't open until 2015, you can track their progress on their official website and Twitter account.
