Hurricane Odile was one of the most intense tropical cyclones to ever hit Mexico's Baja California Peninsula, wreaking havoc last month, but Los Cabos refuses to let the storm cloud future events. As planned, the third annual Los Cabos International Film Festival will be held November 12-16, marking not only an artistic endeavor, but Cabos' resilience. Focusing on films from Mexico, Canada, and the United States, the festival features several big premieres (like the Latin American premiere of Canadian filmmaker Xavier Dolan’s fifth feature, Mommy, and Atom Egoyan’s Captive, which premiered at Cannes). Of course, like any film fest, there will be tons of red carpet opportunities, parties, galas, and even outdoor screenings. The nine films chosen for Los Cabos Competition are:
