The French Cathedral of Notre Dame has received nine new bells to replace the aging ones. The bells will be on exhibition in Paris until February 25 when they will be taken up to the historic towers where they will replace the current bells. Each of the new bells are named after saints.
French Cardinal, Andre Armand Vingt-Trois has given his blessing to eight of Notre Dame Cathedral's nine new bells.
A blessing ceremony for the ninth bell is taking place later.
The bells, named after saints and prominent Catholic figures, will be on display at the Paris cathedral until 25 February.
Then they will be hoisted to its iconic twin towers, where they will replace older bells that had become discordant.
