Philadelphia Zoo has an area called KidZooU, where children can come face to face with and learn about various creatures we share our world with. This is a perfect spot for those on vacation in Philadelphia to take their kids as it offers fun and education in a nice, easy to get to package.
KidZooU isn’t your typical, run-of-the-mill petting zoo.
And for 8-year-old Zahra Jaffe, this isn’t a typical day at the Philadelphia Zoo either.
“Can we pet the horses, too?” said Jaffe, of Philadelphia.
“You sure can,” said the zookeeper.
At KidZooU, gone are the fences and barriers separating zoo guests from the animals. This is a place where kids — and adults — can not only pet miniature horses, but they can brush and touch sheep and rare goats and chickens as well.
But that’s not all there is to KidZooU: Hamilton Family Children’s Zoo and Faris Family Education Center, which opens Saturday.
