There is only one letter in the alphabet that when proceeded with a declarative, the, is instantly identifiable as a gathering place for the hip and cool. The letter is of course W and is the moniker for hipster hangout hotels found throughout the world such as you’ll find at The W Bali. The W Bali is hands down the sexiest hotel on the island and offers the total package to jetsetters looking to indulge in all that Bali has to offer.

Located in Bali’s party zone, Seminiyak, The W is close to all the action. The W oozes cool with an edgy design with flashy neon lights, pops of tropical pinks and purples, and larger than life Liechtenstein-esqe artwork. And that’s just the lobby area. Throughout the property are Balinese touches in the décor and a water and fire motif that creates a sultry vibe especially in the night. Beyond the neon lobby bar opens to reveal the gorgeous views of the property with its most iconic feature, a cascading multilevel free form pool, the size of a small lake, surrounded by towering palm trees, four-poster daybeds and toned bodies on floating beanbags. From early in the morning until late, the pool is the hot spot to be with 20 and 30 somethings alternating between dips in the pool or laying out to perfect their tan. Beyond is an idyllic stretch of beach with waves from the Indian Ocean and unobstructed views that only cease at the distant horizon.

What The W has been able to do is to create a vibe unlike any other hotel in Bali. It’s is vibrant and full of energy yet exudes luxury so guests can choose to party hard, just chill out or both. As the sun dips, the sky turns a kaleidoscope of colors from burnt orange to indigo against the distant horizon and the larger than life W sculpture at the central point of the view.

This Woo Bar is thee pre-party spot where most of the guests will saunter off for a change of clothes and perhaps dinner at one of the restaurants many options  The party heads to WOOBAR club after dark for their lineup of international DJs that keep their in-crown dancing until breakfast.

The W Bali is a large resort with 237 retreats, suites, villas and residences. The retreats are located in the five-story main building and are an excellent option with a contemporary and stylish design with Balinese touches, mood lighting, and a color palette of calming natural tones and textures. The Sea View Retreats are spacious with a comfortable sitting area with an L-shaped couch and table and a Bose sound system playing The W’s own soundtrack of EDM and popular music to set the tone. There are a host of restaurants and you can pretty much eat anywhere from poolside to the ubiquitous lounges around the property where there was always an attendant on standby to take your order of eats and drinks. Their two signature restaurants are Fire, and Starfish Bloo which focuses on Asian cuisine.

The aptly named FIRE, is their upscale grill restaurant and provides a range of succulent dishes from a raw seafood bar, to their carnivore’s choice of dry-aged Irish ribeye, Australian Kiwami Wagyu, grain-fed Black Angus prime beef, Argentinian beef and more. The décor is ideal for a romantic dinner with a sultry color and tones. The centerpiece of the design is an impressive chandelier made of red, orange, and yellow-colored glass which was inspired by the Balinese bonfire Kecak dance and designed to resemble fire. Couples will enjoy dining at the booths inside or outside on the terrace by candlelight.

The most decadent place to be in Bali on Sunday is brunch at The W. The Fire, and Starfish Bloo both host a full brunch feast with a bubbly and cocktail options.
