Malibu Beach Inn hosts it's first virtual gourmet winemaker brunch on Sunday, May 24, 2020 at 12:00 p.m.
In the comfort of your own home, chef Ryan Caldwell from the hotel's Carbon Beach Club is preparing an exciting four-course brunch to be paired Maisons & Domaines Henriot champagne and wines. Henriot is an independent champagne house that has been family owned since 1808 and Gilles De Larouziere, the president & chairman of Henriot will lead the tasting event.
This exclusive brunch event is limited to 12 couples via Zoom. Deliveries will be made to participants' homes in the greater Los Angeles area on May 23, 2020, or the brunch is also available for curbside pickup at Carbon Beach Club in Malibu.
The menu includes:
· Caviar with blini, crème fraiche, red onion, chive, and chopped egg
· Prosciutto & Melon Salad with arugula, black pepper, with a splash of extra virgin olive oil
· Bacon & Caramelized Onion Quiche with Neiman Ranch bacon, farro pea, and heirloom tomato salad
· Chocolate Banana Bread with brown butter frosting and macerated berries
Based in Reims, Champagne Henriot is owned by Maisons & Domaines Henriot, a family-run, two-hundred-year-old international company that today federates five houses emblematic of their terroirs.
Participants will get to see Larouziere's very own home in Burgundy, France, while learning about the estate and enjoying brunch items paired with the following Henriot wines and champagne selections:
· Champagne Henriot, 2008 Millésimé, Montage de Reims & Côte des Blancs is made with 50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Noir. It's a blend of only Premier and Grand Cru grapes. Aged for 10 years in dark Henriot cellars in Reims. Tasting notes include citrus and yellow fruit aroma with a long refined, silky and refreshing finish.
· Domaine William Fèvre, 2018, Chablis offers a fresh boquet of citrus with a hint of peach and honey. Slight mineral notes linger at the finish.
· Bouchard Père & Fils “Vigne de l’Enfant Jésus', Beaune-Grèves offer an extraordinary fruit and spice aroma with oaky notes.
It's a once in a lifetime chance to learn about the wines from Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards, the aging times, and the quantity of reserve wines used in producing each blend.
