Lago d’Orta is part of the Italian constellation of subalpine lakes that are synonymous with Italian luxury. Dotting the landscape around the water are various buildings exhibiting Romanesque and Baroque architecture.

In the middle of the lake is the tiny Isola San Guilio, an island full of gorgeous and picturesque buildings. There are also several peninsulas around the lake with equally striking yet more accessible villages.
