In the rarefied heights of the French Alps, where snow-draped peaks meet a legacy of jet-set glamour, a new icon has emerged for the 2025/2026 ski season: Rosewood Courchevel Le Jardin Alpin. Marking Rosewood’s first winter resort and its second property in mainland France, the hotel brings contemporary artistry and immersive alpine living to the storied slopes of Courchevel 1850.
Set within the prestigious Jardin Alpin enclave, the ski-in, ski-out retreat offers direct access to Les Trois Vallées, the world’s largest connected ski area. But this is more than a base for exploration; it is a modern reimagining of Alpine glamour, inspired by Courchevel’s golden era of travel.

A Legendary Address, Reimagined
Courchevel’s ascent to international fame began in 1961 with the opening of the world’s first mountain airport, transforming the resort into a winter playground for royalty, Hollywood icons, and tastemakers. Rosewood honors that legacy while reinterpreting it for a new generation of global travelers.
Conceived by acclaimed French interior designer Tristan Auer, the 51-room property feels less like a traditional hotel and more like an eclectic private chalet. Auer approached the project as though designing a grand alpine residence, layering noble materials, tactile finishes, and bespoke artworks into a cohesive, deeply personal narrative.
The façade, clad in Vals Quartzite quarried in Switzerland, is accented with warm wood and copper. A hand-carved entrance door crafted from locally sourced timber sets the tone for the artistry within. Throughout the interiors, mirrored installations, sculpted stone, brushed metals, and organic textures create a dialogue between nature and design.

Alpine Sanctuaries in the Sky
Each of the 51 rooms, suites, and penthouses is conceived as a refined mountain residence. Private seated terraces extend the living space outdoors, framing sweeping views of snow-covered peaks and maintaining a constant connection to the surrounding slopes.
Select signature suites feature illuminated bars crafted from brushed Himalayan salt blocks, angled to echo nearby mountain silhouettes. When lit, the salt glows softly, complemented by custom Carapace wall lights, also fashioned from Himalayan salt, which cast a diffused warmth across the space.
The two-bedroom Saulire and Courchevel Houses welcome up to four guests, offering intimate luxury after long days on the pistes. Saulire House features a floating art installation, Rye Ergot, by Italian designer Christian Pellizzari, composed of hand-blown Murano crystal and mirrored copper-toned glass. Courchevel House reimagines the traditional Alpine fireplace in bush-hammered bluestone and patinated brass.
The crowning jewel is the four-bedroom Jardin Alpin Apartment, designed by French architects Karl Fournier and Olivier Marty of Studio KO. With a private elevator, expansive terraces overlooking the Sommet de la Saulire, a cinema, and a professional kitchen, it is an art-filled haven for families or groups seeking absolute privacy.

Art as Experience
Art is not an afterthought here; it is integral to the guest journey. In the lobby, crystalline reflections from Icelandic-Danish artist Olafur Eliasson shimmer across the mirrored walls in his installation, Two, where harmonious yet different crystals share views and reflections. The Breccia marble staircase, framed by copper blades, becomes a sculptural statement in its own right.
Elsewhere, guests encounter a textile work by Morgane Baroghel-Crucq, a chamotte stoneware and glass piece by Amandine Haeghen behind the concierge desk, and a striking cigar lounge shaped like an inverted pinecone crafted by Studio MTX of Atelier Montex, part of Chanel’s Métiers d’Art. Every corner reinforces Rosewood’s design-led philosophy: hospitality as an immersive storytelling experience.

SALTO: Alpine Cuisine with Italian Flair
At the heart of the hotel lies SALTO, a vibrant dining destination led by Chef Gioia Baek. Born in South Korea and mentored at the three-Michelin-starred Da Vittorio in Bergamo, Baek draws inspiration from the Italian Alps, presenting dishes that are both refined and comforting.
By day, the panoramic terrace welcomes skiers directly from the slopes for Savoyard classics prepared à la minute, elevated with Champagne, black truffle, or porcini alongside grilled seafood and premium meats cooked over an open-air fire pit. By night, SALTO transforms into an elegant dining room, while the SALTO Lounge hosts lively yet polished après-ski gatherings with vintage Champagne, signature cocktails, and a live DJ.
The design mirrors the culinary ethos: a chainsaw-sculpted bar base nods to mountain woodcutters, while a gold-infused glass countertop evokes glacial shimmer.
Restoration at Asaya Spa
After a day carving through powder, guests retreat to Asaya®, Rosewood’s integrative wellness concept debuting in Courchevel. Tailored specifically for mountain recovery, treatments include the Deep Alpine Massage exclusive to the property and the Ski Legs Revival Massage. The Oxylight 3D Radiance Ceremony restores post-slope luminosity, while facilities include a sauna and hammam, a cold bath, a jacuzzi, and a Technogym-equipped fitness suite.
A ceramic fresco inspired by glacier lines the pool, and a moon-shaped Nebulite light installation casts a calming glow. For younger guests, a whimsical cavern with tumbling waterfalls adds an alpine sense of magic.

Curated Alpine Adventures
Personal Ski Concierges orchestrate unforgettable mountain moments from sunrise coffee atop La Saulire overlooking Mont Blanc to the coveted First Track experience, granting exclusive early access to pristine runs. Families are equally considered, with a dedicated Kids Club featuring an arcade, cinema, drawing room, and even a children-only cooking restaurant.
With rates starting at €2,900 per night, Rosewood Courchevel Le Jardin Alpin sets a new benchmark for winter hospitality. The resort will close in early April and reopen in December 2026 for the 2026/2027 ski season, ready once again to blend heritage, artistry, and high-altitude adventure into one extraordinary alpine escape.
