The Emerald Collection, the luxury resort group behind Emerald Maldives Resort & Spa, will soon double in size with the upcoming Emerald Faarufushi Resort & Spa. Set to open May 1, 2022 on a seven-hectare private island in the Raa Atoll, it is just a 25-minute boat ride from Emerald Maldives Resort & Spa.

“We are thrilled to announce the acquisition and launch of our second property in the Maldivian archipelago, Emerald Faarufushi Resort & Spa,” said Aldo Scarapicchia, Partner and Managing Director of The Emerald Collection. “The acquisition of Emerald Faarufushi Resort & Spa is an exciting stage in our growth as a collection of distinctive luxury tropical resorts and consolidates our brand's international presence which spans from the Maldives to Zanzibar.”

The lusciously green island is home to a beautiful house reef and encapsulates barefoot elegance at its finest while staying true to the thriving Maldivian environment that surrounds the resort, from offerings, design and more. Incorporating natural elements of stone and wood, its minimalistic and sophisticated design provides a platform for seclusion and privacy in order to create the ultimate bucket-list experience for all travelers.

The resort will feature 80 villas split into six different categories (Beach Villas (10), Family Villas with Pool (10), Beach Villas with Pool (17), Water Villa with Pool (39), Superior Water Villa with Pool (3) and one Presidential Villa beautifully located on the pristine beach) along with five restaurants and two bars to choose from. Leading the culinary charge is its signature Italian restaurant, Mediterraneo and Eclipse Bar, both located on the resort’s scenic jetty.

Also located at the resort is Emerald Spa, a haven of holistic wellness; a state-of-the-art wellness facility hidden amongst the lush vegetation of palm trees. Elevated amongst the rising palm trees, the spa features eight treatment rooms each designed with an oval roof. There is a steam room, a manicure and pedicure corner, a yoga pavilion, plunge pools, a spa boutique, and an immersive relaxation area – the perfect spot for forest bathing. The spa menu draws from Balinese tradition and extensive fitness and water sports options. Guests can make use of the tennis court or paddle court in the marina and an air-conditioned Gym & Sports Center with Technogym equipment, or partake at the five-star Diving Center, where guests can achieve the coveted PADI license.
