Tyson Cole, the chef and restaurateur behind Uchi in Austin, has announced something special for the city, but hasn't been clear on the details. What he has revealed includes thematic details and that the new restaurant will feature a Southeast Asian menu. Jack Yoss, a seasoned chef with experience from his time in Indonesia, was revealed as the chief chef.

For the first time since 2010, Tyson Cole and the brilliant culinary powers behind Uchi are planning a new restaurant concept.

There's no name and no confirmed location but director of culinary operations Philip Speer describes the forthcoming Austin restaurant as "something more casual" with a lower price point.

"It's something Austin's never seen," Speer says, "kinda different and cool."

Confirming the news, Cole adds that the new restaurant will be a fast-casual Southeast Asian kitchen.
