Adam Taylor/Daily Telegraph The 15 meter tall "rubber" duck has made its landing in Sydney Harbor where it will stay for the length of the Sydney Festival and bring joy to the population. The artist claims that this duck's purpose is to bring joy and laughter as well as to bring the world together in one communal "bath tub."
Its creator, Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman, likes to say he doesn't create big objects but makes the world a bit smaller. It's why his duck -- already seen in 12 cities -- has the Middle East and Africa in its sights.
A rubber duck, it seems, can bring "joy and laughter" to the world's more tense regions.
"It brings people together and connects them," Hofman said.
