Though North Carolina isn't really known for being a fashion mecca, the weeklong fashion event, starting yesterday should offer the state's fashionistas a lot to look forward to if the quality of last year's rendition holds up.

Get ready for a week of beauty, collaboration, innovation, design, creativity and most of all fashion!

N.C. State's Fashion Week 2013 begins Monday and runs through Friday. Throughout the week there will be exhibitions, educational forums and fashion shows.

This is the second year that N.C. State has hosted the event, and the best part about this year is that tickets are free!
