Lexus held the world premier of their brand new LF-C2 concept car on opening day of the Los Angeles Auto Show on Wednesday. The super shiny Grand Touring design comes in the form of a 2+2 roadster layout and marks a definite futuristic leap forward for the marquee.
The Los Angeles Auto Show is barely underway, with tons of reveals ahead of us, but we're probably the most excited for the three new special and limited edition Porsche debuts: the Porsche Panamera Exclusive Series, the Cayenne GTS, and the 911 Carrera GTS.
Last week, Ward Village released 12 penthouses in their Anaha tower in Honolulu, Hawaii, and if these photos are anything to go by, you just might want to start packing now. The exclusive residences are the last to be released in the first two towers, offer fantastic views, and a wide array of floor plans. Ranging from just under $2 million for a 1,351-square-foot to $14 million, the homes feature 10-foot ceilings, hardwood and stone floors, and Miele kitchen appliances—not to mention all of the building amenities.
For anyone who is constantly traveling, you know how much of a pain in the butt it can be to keep your things in order when jumping from hotel to hotel. Luxury closet designer Lisa Adams is the go-to among the Hollywood elite (Anne Hathaway, Christina Aguilera, and Fergie are just a few of her clients), and she recently partnered up with Max Mirani to create a stylish suitcase called LAMove Mobile Closet.
Bugatti is one of those luxury cars that everyone wants a piece of—at least we do—so when an expansive exhibit comes around that puts the history of the marquee on display, we notice. Found on Oxnard, CA., the Mullin Automotive Museum is hosting an exhibition called The Art of Bugatti. More than just cars, this display includes the entire Bugatti family, including over 50 furniture pieces by Carlo (plus his paintings), several sculptures by Rembrandt, and of course, the largest private collection of Bugatti autos in the world, which was created by Ettore and Jean.
Hendo is probably the closest you will ever get to actually being Marty McFly. The super successful Kickstarter campaign has so far raised nearly double their $250,000 goal, meaning that the 11 lucky folks who pitched in $10K to get themselves the "world's first hoverboard" can expect their new toy in October of next year. For those who backed at least $299, you can expect your Whitebox (which is basically Hendo's tech in a box to do with what you want) in July 2015. If you're unsure why this is cool, just stop reading and watch Back to the Future.
You can buy someone some cool luxury speakers or the hottest frock on the runway this season, OR you can buy them a hamper full of food. Honestly, most of the time, we will choose the latter. Heck, who are we kidding? We would be buying it for ourselves. Because maybe those speakers aren't as cool as you thought they'd be or that dress actually makes you look like you're perpetually overdressed, but a huge hamper stuffed with food and wine (like the Selfridges Selection Ultimate Selfridges Foodhall Hamper) will never let you down—we're sure that's soon to be a Mindy Kaling quote.
Last time we checked in with artist Adrien Broom it was when she was in the middle of her acclaimed Color Project, an eight-part series that explored the world of color through the eyes of a child. Finally, after two exciting years, the Color Project is finished with the completion of the rainbow world and it was well worth the wait.
Let's raise a toast to Caskers, a new online service that wants to change the way people drink by giving customers access to the finest craft spirits with its Concierge Service, Private Cask Program, and delivery clubs. Caskers founders Steven Abt and Moiz Ali introduced the first online High End Concierge Service to track down and deliver the (nearly) impossible-to-source bottles, and to match customer tastes with rare spirits and new discoveries. Now that’s our kind of personal shopper.
It seems like no one is immune to Oprah's influence so when we saw that she is a client of Nakkaş, we paid attention. Thankfully, the Istanbul-based company has a wide array of beautiful hand-woven Turkish carpets and rugs (some 20,000 products that are priced as high as $260,000) to keep our interest past the initial peek.
The only thing better than a bottle of Louis XIII de Rémy Martin is a bottle of Louis XIII Le Jeroboam that comes in a locked gift box. Four times the capacity of the regular old Louis XIII, Louis XIII Le Jeroboam comes in an 11-pound blown crystal decanter that has been numbered and comes in limited quantities each year.
Recently, while wrapped in the mist of an early Napa autumn morning, we visited the Newton Vineyard property on Spring Mountain in California's Napa Valley. We were given a tour personally by the recently appointed Newton Estate Director and winemaker Rob Mann, who chatted with us about preparing the foundation for some truly spectacular future vintages.
