They hype surrounding this week's release of Baz Luhrman's The Great Gatsby is undeniable. Aside from the glamorous fashion, toe-tapping music and glitzy jewels that are sure to be seen in this talked about film, another thing we can't wait to see is the performance of British actress Carey Mulligan as the temptress, Daisy Buchanan. In anticipation of the film's release, we've put together a slideshow of the actress's most stunning photo shoots and spreads that document her rise to fame over the last few years.

Back in January 2010, Mulligan was one fraction of the group that appeared on Vanity Fair's prestigious Hollywood Issue, shot by Annie Leiovitz. The up-and-comer appeared alongside fellow actresses Abbie Cornish, Kristen Stewart, Amanda Seyfriend, Rebecca Hall, Mia Wasikowska, Anna Kendrick, Emma Stone, and Evan Rachel Wood. Interestingly enough, only Abbie, Kristen and Carey fit on the cover, while the other six actresses are on the fold out.
