Haute Swiss watch brand Girard-Perregaux, which recently celebrated its 220th anniversary, has introduced a version of its famed Tourbillon timepiece with three gold bridges in a limited edition of 50 pieces.

Inspired by a watch made in Art Deco style in 1945, the 1945 Tourbillon with Three Gold Bridges is finished in white gold and priced at $210,940. Its rhodium-plated skeleton bridges with their “pure and contemporary” geometry are first delicately hollowed then carefully hand-polished. It takes seven days to achieve a perfect finish in all the complex interior angles.

The Tourbillon is also the focus of special attention, with its 72 components that have to be perfectly assembled within a diameter of 12 millimeters. The case features a convex profile and discreetly matched crown. The case-back of the timepiece has a sapphire glass to reveal the matchless haute horlogerie finish of the Calibre 9600C movement.

The automatic calibre features Girard-Perregaux’s patented platinum micro-rotor mechanism incorporated under the barrel. It comes on a black hand-sewn alligator skin strap with a folding clasp in white gold. Go to Girard-Perregaux.ch to see more.
