Ferrari Golf Collection's Aerodynamic Driver

Ferrari is certainly one of the top luxury car brands and now they've teamed up with Cobra to create top-of-the-line golf gear, because you've always wanted clubs to match your F12berlinetta, right? While the clubs aren't actually released on the market until August 2012, you may want to create your wish list now because we're guessing these drivers and gear are going to go fast.
Cobra has been around since the early 70's and by teaming up with Ferrari they're following in the footsteps of rival companies, such as Taylormade (who paired with Porsche) and Callaway (who paired up with Lamborghini). The choice to partner with car brands is definitely in hopes that golf will further its association with flashy luxury and affluent living, and with the driver costing around $2,000, it's certainly only going to be found in select golf bags. Who knows? Maybe it will end up being a mid-life crisis alternative to a sports car.
The Ferrari Golf Collection Driver was designed between Cobra's engineers and Ferrari's aerodynamic and materials engineers, promising a one of a kind club. “Working with the Ferrari aerodynamic team was an excellent experience. Their expertise helped us think differently about the design of the club head, resulting in a superior driver that delivers serious speed and distance gains,” says Tom Preece, Vice President of COBRA Club Research and Development. “This was an exciting project because my team got to work directly with Ferrari engineers, who are experts in their field of aerodynamics and materials usage. And together we created a driver that will increase club head speed and provide superior distance for golfers of all abilities.”
The teams promise that their collaboration created a driver with faster club head speed and greater distance gains. The design features a strong titanium alloy face, light weight alloy chassis with a carbon fiber in the crown and sole, internal tungsten weighting, a leather grip, and a Fujikura Motore Speeder shaft.
Also in the collection are fine leather golf shoes. Made by hand, the shoes come from Cappelletti, a family-owned business out of Italy, and promise to be carefully crafted to bring you the highest quality footwear available. Each pair has the Ferrari horse logo embossed on the heel and S2Quill Spikes to ensure your footing on various course terrains.
The collection is rounded out with luxury golf bags, duffel bags, leather belts, footwear bags, hats, golf gloves, and an umbrella. You can find the goods at select golf retailers, select Ferrari stores, and various high-end retailers starting August 1, 2012.
