An electric unicycle may not be new to the scene anymore, but done well and it’s certainly still cool. Capable of reaching a top speed of just over 13mph, the Ninebot One only takes 1-4 hours to charge and promises to be smarter than anything else on the market. Featuring an iridescent lamp running around the exterior, you can program your scooter to glow and blink whatever color you want via the accompanying app. There’s also an alarm system that will let you know via sound, light and vibration when you’re going too fast or lean too far. It will also go off when the battery is running low, when it’s overheating, and when the gadget has an internal malfunction. If the thought of riding around on one wheel makes you nervous, you can buy an assistant wheel set—which basically adds little training wheels to the pedals—so you can get the hang of the balancing act before zooming around in public.
