Katsina dolls are the carved representations of the Katsinam, the spirit messengers of the universe. The annual Katsina Doll Marketplace, at Phoenix's Heard Museum, welcomes hundreds of innovative carvers who create both contemporary and traditional works. Enjoy musical performances, carving demonstrations and a drawing for the featured katsina doll.
Hopi carvers will show and sell their carvings in both traditional and contemporary styles. The marketplace is great for both new and experienced collectors to meet the best established and emerging carvers. Alongside the great pieces of art available, visitors can enjoy live music and attend book signings headed by crafters. |
