Madrid Things To Do: Bullfighting is to Spain what baseball is to America, and Las Ventas is their Doubleday Field. The Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas is the most famous bullring in all of Spain, and has been since it was built it 1931.
One of the largest in the world, Las Ventas has seating for 25,000 and recently began offering behind-the-scenes tours where visitors can learn about the origins of bullfighting, its evolution, and perhaps catch a glimpse of a brave torero readying himself for the performance.
