We have great news for all the billionaires around the world: Volkswagen green-lighted the four-door Bugatti 16C Galibier sedan. These words came from two people familiar with the matter, which means it is not an April Fools prank.

For those who don’t know, the Bugatti 16C Galibier was introduced back in 2010 at the Geneva Motor Show and it is powered by the same engine found on the Veyron supercar, capable to deliver 1000 hp.

Regarding the price, the car may cost about one million euros ($1.4 million), and it will take on cars such as the latest Ferrari FF, according to Autonews. Honestly to tell you, we think the Ferrari FF doesn’t have a chance in front of the Galibier. Still, there are good news for this segment, as the Ferrari FF, which costs 260,000 euros, is already sold out for the first year of production.

And the good news continues for four-door supercars, as Lamborghini (another brand owned by Volkswagen Group, just like Bugatti) might also introduce a third model in its portfolio in the form of the Estoque sedan.

Still, the company plans to make a decision by the end of the year, but let’s not forget that Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann said at the Geneva Motor Show last month that a four-door vehicle is a “a very feasible approach.” Regarding the Bugatti Galibier, it appears that this car was approved thanks to Wolfgang Duerheimer, the former development chief at Porsche AG who took over as head of Bugatti and Bentley in February.
