The Singapore Zoo opened in 1973 and has since been a nine-time winner of the ‘Best Leisure Attraction Experience’ award by the Singapore Tourism Board. Over 2,800 animals including 300 species of mammals, birds and reptiles call this 64-acre property home. Located within the Mandai rainforest that extends into the Upper Seletar Reservoir, the zoo prides itself on providing a naturalistic habitat for the wildlife to roam around freely in and specially created viewing areas for guests to observe from, like an elevated platform to watch the giraffes or underwater galleries to see the otters and hippos. Visitors can also take part in immersive experiences like the Australian Outback that will have kangaroos eating out of their hands, or the Jungle Breakfast where orangutans will join in on the fun
